Another type of policy you can choose is to set the value of the ring yourself. If something happens to it the company will reimburse you for the value which you chose yourself. Not many people use this type of policy because it is very expensive.

For some of the policies and insurance companies the ring must be appraised by a certified jeweler. Make sure that you check if you have to do it or if the company will take care of it for you.
